HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

ACCO is seeking a full-time HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer in Bellevue, WA. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for delivery of Engineering design/build project work, from conceptual design through drawing completion.

Typical Duties May Include:
Complete engineering design project planning (i.e., conceptual design through construction drawing development)

Complete LEED certifications

Conduct one or more of the following: economic & energy analyses; load calculations; design and layout of equipment, duct and piping systems

Complete applications engineering including refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems

Development and/or review of sequences of operation

Develop and review of equipment submittals

Coordinate design and installation with Project Management, Construction and Service departments

Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving

Complete Computer 3D modeling of HVAC systems utilizing the latest modeling software

Assist or complete project estimating and proposal writing, client interaction

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager

Job Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering / Architectural Engineering or Construction Management

3+ years’ prior experience with HVAC and/or engineering consulting

Excellent understanding of Engineering fundamentals

Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit MEP(or similar drafting software)

Ability to multi-task

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to, type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

The employee is regularly required to walk and sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (i.e for jobsite visits)

Occasionally required to reach above shoulder height to access storage cabinets and mail cubicles.

Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime and work on weekends as required. Travel to our larger California offices may be required (estimated less than 10%).

You understand that regular attendance is required, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day with one hour for lunch, in order to do the job effectively.
