Job Description
We are looking for HVAC Controls Technician II with 2-3 years of experience as well as a Controls Technician III with 4-5 years of experience for one of our clients. If you have more experience, we would still like to speak with you.
- Hybrid roles based out of either Staunton, VA or Plymouth, MN.
- Primarily looking for folks with experience in common integration protocols, systems knowledge, chiller plant experience etc. Trillion Niagara experience is nice to have but not required. Looking for folks who can work in the NOVA/DC area.
- Candidate should have experience with BAS, HVAC or related industry.
- Should be self motivated, willing to learn and grow.

The HVAC Controls Technician II position will be responsible for providing technician support for BAS, maintenance agreements, system upgrades, and controls related service requests.
What you will do:
- Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
- Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers
- Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
- Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
- Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
- Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
- Provide training and follow-ups for Customers and operations personnel
- Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy
- Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 50lbs with or without an accommodation.
- Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry.
- Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools.
- Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals.
- Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls.
- Ability to understand written sequences of operation.
- Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams.
- Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification.
- Experience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL.
- Current first aid / CPR card.
