Job Description

The Facilities Associate will be responsible for the life safety, general maintenance, preventative maintenance, HVAC repairs, and staff facility needs as assigned in ACC’s DC-based building.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, general maintenance, troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, minor electrical, and minor plumbing repairs for assigned floors in the building.
  • Assist team members with their assigned maintenance/facilities issues as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of operating mechanical, electrical, and equipment systems.  Alert the Team Leader immediately with any issues or concerns.
  • Maintain and operate life safety/fire systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and governmental agency and company directives as relates to facility operations.
  • Remain proficient in all operational aspects of facilities systems.
  • Update and maintain equipment daily, weekly, and monthly log reports.
  • Participate with rotating ON CALL schedule.  Must respond and arrive to the facility for after hours, weekends, and holidays within 90 minutes to all emergency and non-emergency situations while ON CALL.
  • Be available and remain onsite during weather events and other emergencies until weather event or emergency is resolved.
  • Maintain on-going proactive communication with Facilities, Meetings & Events Logistics team, AV, ACC staff, security, tenants, and vendors.
  • Make adjustments as needed to base building and IT Energy Management Computer Systems.
  • Work with conference center and audio visual personnel to ensure that room sets are completed in a timely manner.
  • Other related facilities/maintenance duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years related work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven dependability and responsiveness
  • Must be certified as a Universal Technician for CFC’s within one year of employment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively interact with staff, visitors, and vendors
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Availability for overtime hours as needed during week and on weekends

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
