Job Description
Complete Building Services (CBS) is dedicated to the operation and maintenance of commercial and government buildings and facilities. As the largest division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc., CBS is part of Washington, DC’s oldest and most established real estate organization.
CBS is hiring experienced HVAC Technicians to join our Commercial HVAC Service division. Our HVAC Technicians rotate on call duties throughout the year; on average a tech may only be on call for 4 weeks through a 52-week period. CBS provides all service trucks to ensure you have a reliable source of travel for your position. As an HVAC Technician, you will be involved in three main areas – supporting installation projects, supporting preventative maintenance work plans, and responding to calls to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Journeyman license is preferred but will consider applicants without a license if their experience meets the required qualifications. Hours Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Salary $30 to $52 + depending on experience and license.
Major Duties to include:
- Maintain HVAC equipment in sound operating condition
- Diagnose and repair HVAC system problems as assigned
- Provide direction and support to sub-contractors when needed
- Interface with building personnel and other customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction
- Accurately document work performed on trouble tickets or work orders
- Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
Qualifications:
Education Requirement with one of the following
- High School diploma or equivalent
License Requirement
- State HVAC License Journeyman or Masters preferred, but not required based upon previous experience
- Universal CFC Certification Required
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
Experience and Physical Expectations
- Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years commercial experience preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience with HVAC systems
- Strong electrical trouble shooting skills to perform the following: connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and ventilation fans to starter panels and/or VFD’s
- Additionally, you may be asked to speak to your experience with any of the following equipment: CRAC Units, RTU’s, Split System AC and HP’s, VRF’s, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Boilers, Gas and Oil Fired, AHU’s, VAV Systems, Chill Water, Condenser Water, Hot Water Systems and Hi/Low Pressure Steam Systems.
- Able to lift to sixty (60) pounds
- Capable of ascending ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet
