Job Description
LPA’s Irvine office is seeking an Mechanical Project Manager who will manage and direct the mechanical and plumbing systems design of major projects, including conceptual design, construction documentation construction administration, and coordination between design disciplines. The Project Manager will be a leader within our engineering group and will manage major design projects for the firm. This is a highly visible role requiring the ability to communicate with colleagues and clients.
Key Responsibilities Include:
+Provide knowledge, management and oversight of mechanical design for LPA projects
+Contribute to project planning, scheduling, task management
+Mentor engineering staff and conduct employee performance evaluations
+Interact with clients, LPA colleagues, utility representatives, code officials and contractors, including engineering support during construction
+Provide Quality Control / Quality Assurance for mechanical and plumbing design documents
+Monitor project schedules and budgets and staff resources
+Foster and enhance the collaborative and integrated discipline goals of the company
Qualifications:
+Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Related field
+Experience with DSA and/or OSHPD projects
+Minimum of 8 years of project experience in HVAC and plumbing design of major projects
+Professional Registration as an Mechanical Engineer in CA
+Knowledge of ASHRAE Standards, CMC, and related California Building Codes
+Knowledge of green building practices and LEED Rating System
+LEED AP BD+C Certification is desired
+Proven ability to resolve complex design problems
+Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude
+Experience in the design of fire alarm systems is desirable
