Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will report directly to the Irvine office Mechanical Discipline leader and serve as a representative of the firm both internally and externally, and will be responsible for selecting equipment for use in complex building projects. This role will expand as he or she will take on broader aspects of business management as well as development and oversight of training activities, financial performance and issues pertaining to the team, client and project. He or she will also prepare drawings detailing the designed system and prepare system design calculations. The Mechanical Engineer will pursue new business as well as nurture the growth of relationships with existing clientele and will prepare engineering solutions for complex designs and Technical Specifications. To ensure all team projects exceed expectations, this leader will administer high-level performance reviews and participate in continued learning events such as design workshops, as well as coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines. health and science project experience is experience is essential.This dynamic role calls for an energetic and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer capable of independently performing various phases of commercial building HVAC design including: conceptual development, engineering calculations, documentation, specifications, and construction observations. He or she should have 5 to 10+ years of experience in design of HVAC systems for corporate, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and academic facilities. He or she will prepare drawings detailing the designed system (using Revit and/or AutoCAD) and prepare system design
Bachelor and/or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Licensure in California (PE) highly desired
Minimum 5 years progressive Mechanical Engineering leadership experience within a Mechanical Engineering or Multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy
Good client skills including being able to participate in interviews for new projects
Effective communication skills both verbal and written
Sufficient professional experience to assure both technical and train for management competence
LEED accreditation preferred
OSHPD experience highly desired.
