Job Description
Purpose of the Position:
The main purpose of this role is to assume technical leadership within the department regarding the inspection, maintenance and repair of all related HVAC fixtures at the various corporate sites in a safe and compliant manner.
Essential Functions:
Work independently and be self motivated while technically leading team members through daily maintenance and operation of site equipment;
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following;
1. On-site technical lead of HVAC workforce, working closely with Management and on-site contractors, project coordination, oversight of PM & WO distribution plus timesheet review and escalation to management.
2. Ensure proper respond to Customer requests are completed and documented in a professional manner.
3. Overall technical lead for On-Site BMS Systems
4. Assume technical lead towards completion of the following as needed;
5. Inspection, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacement of all related HVAC fixtures i.e.,
a. Valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, motor starters, circuit breakers, CRAC units.
7. Technical master with refrigerant leak detection, repair, evacuation and charging
8. Technical Lead for general and preventative maintenance
9. Assume technical lead in troubleshooting and emergency situations.
10. Oversight and verification of necessary paperwork, i.e, Log Books, Work Tickets, PM Documentation.
11. Technical expertise with use of various testing devices related to the mechanical trades.
12. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
13. Position may require supervision of one or more team members while working on various projects.
Required Competencies-Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1) Advanced expert knowledge of HVAC systems.
2) Advanced BMS and programming skills.
3) Expert written and verbal communication skills.
4) Outstanding customer service skills.
5) Technically proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
6) Advanced in technical problem solving.
7) Excels at meeting schedules and timelines.
8) Strong interpersonal skills.
9) Technically proficient with blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes etc.
10) Advanced technical ability with brazing techniques, electrical power and control wiring, instrumentation and data acquisition for refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
11) Advanced comprehension of blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes etc…
12) Ability to adhere to Electrical and Refrigeration Codes.
Education & Experience:
• Associates Degree or Technical Certificate with EPA certification, including 410A plus 5 years of HVAC&R Experience OR High school diploma/GED and 10 years of HVAC&R Experience with applicable HVAC&R certification(s)
Working Conditions:
1) Work required in and around laboratory and regulated environments.
2) Working in and around chemicals.
3) Working in and around confined spaces.
4) Ability to lift greater than 50 lbs.
5) Ability to perform on elevated work platforms.
6) This position requires regular medical surveillance and may require incumbent to wear a respirator or gown.
7) Ability to work a minimum of a 40 hour work week.
8) Ability to work Rotating Shift as needed as well as Emergency, Overtime, and weekend shifts.
