•Start up and Commission control systems
•Troubleshoot, maintain and repair commercial/industrial automation systems at assigned customer sites
•Perform corrective and preventative maintenance tasks at assigned customer sites
•Coordination with other trades and engineering
•Complete documentation of all work done, including all readings and calibrations
•Verify system functional performance to ensure proper operation according to contract requirements and shop drawings/sequence of operations, etc.
•Understanding of Lab HVAC equipment and lab ventilation operation.
•Update Customer drawings/documentation with any configuration or model changes.
•Participate in the preparation of job plans that cover job costs. Jobs to be completed as sold within the budgeted cost and timelines.
•Recommend opportunities for improvement.
•Accurate and timely submission of all required paperwork, meet all reporting requirements.
•Experience performing Laboratory Air Flow Analysis (LAFAs), working with customers to meet their critical path requirements, participating in spec development processes; interfacing Automation Systems with local ventilation controls/systems and programming ventilation controls.
•Knowledge of ANSI Z9.5 (Governing Standards of Fume hoods in Canada), applicable codes and regulations pertaining to Ventilation and Automation, Ventilation Controls and BacNet communication ; Automation control systems/programs (PLC) and safe working practices as per OHSA.
Must-have qualifications for this role:
•University Degree with a major in mechanical or electrical engineering
•Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience
•Strong computer skills using laptop/desktop workstations and Windows-based software
•Knowledge of HVAC systems, Control systems, Mechanical system operation and building automation
•Excellent customer relationship skills.
•Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-directed.
•Experience with various products and designs.
•Excellent diagnostics, troubleshooting and problem solving skills for electronics, programming and systems operation.
•Knowledge of server based systems on various operating systems.
•Must be able to operate hand and power tools.
•Must have a car
