HVAC Engineer / Project Manager
Location: Greater Boston
Our client focuses on the design of large, complex, multi-discipline, high-profile water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities for both traditional and design-build is a full service multi-disciplinary consulting engineering design firm established in1994. Specializes in the design and evaluation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 8+years of relevant experience
•5 years of experience as a manager/supervisor of staff
•Licensed Professional Engineer or on track EIT or FE
•Experience in the design and engineering of building heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, as well as, plumbing and fire protection systems, and be skilled in the fundamentals of engineering thermo-fluids and psychometrics.

Responsibilities
•Manage/lead Projects and Jr. Staff
• Supervise and mentor HVAC/P team members
•Coordinate team workload, project deliverable
• Oversee and support the design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, as well as energy conservation and sustainability
•Oversee and support the development of technical specifications, plans, elevations, section and details
•Oversee and review engineering-related calculations
•Review work and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices
•Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed
Project Manager – Deliverables
1. Scopes the project with the client and ensures it is well-defined
2. Defines measurable deliverables
3. Defines a realistic Schedule
4. Defines Additional Services
5. Obtains and transfers Client data, backgrounds etc. to the design team
6. Delegate/does project tasks identified above
7. Coordinates multi-discipline project to achieve a balanced project
8. Identifies the need for and holds/attends coordination meetings
9. Client meetings to ensure the client’s needs are met
10. In-house meetings to ensure the client’s needs are met
11. Ensures technical review is performed by Lead Discipline Engineer(s)
12. Check task deliverable prior to sending the set out
13. Meets with client at first project meeting to establish relationship, provides high level of
coordination with the client
14. Reviews proposals
15. Follows up with client at project close-out to ensure appropriate level of service
16. Develops new business
17. Provides expert consultation in one or more areas for the design, development and
implementation of technical products and systems
18. Recognized as technical leader and resource
19. Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures
20. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
21. Performs a variety of tasks, leads and directs the work of others
22. Responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the development, implementation,
and maintenance of engineering projects
