About the Role
We are a growing construction company seeking an experienced Director of Mechanical Construction to lead and expand our commercial mechanical division. This is a leadership position with full responsibility for overseeing mechanical construction projects from start to finish, including both new build projects renovations and service work.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong project management experience, the ability to manage teams in the field and office, and a deep understanding of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all HVAC construction and service operations
- Build and manage HVAC projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and closeout
- Supervise and mentor project managers, field supervisors, technicians, and office staff
- Coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards
- Produce HVAC estimates, contracts, change orders, and project financials
- Implement and improve operational processes, procedures, and efficiencies within the HVAC division
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal HVAC codes and regulations
- Assist with strategic planning and growth of the HVAC division
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in HVAC construction, including new construction and service
- Proven leadership experience managing projects and employees
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
- Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be based in or able to work in the Tampa area
- Class A HVAC License welcome but not required
