About the Role

We are a growing construction company seeking an experienced Director of Mechanical Construction to lead and expand our commercial mechanical division. This is a leadership position with full responsibility for overseeing mechanical construction projects from start to finish, including both new build projects renovations and service work.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong project management experience, the ability to manage teams in the field and office, and a deep understanding of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all HVAC construction and service operations
• Build and manage HVAC projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and closeout
• Supervise and mentor project managers, field supervisors, technicians, and office staff
• Coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards
• Produce HVAC estimates, contracts, change orders, and project financials
• Implement and improve operational processes, procedures, and efficiencies within the HVAC division
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal HVAC codes and regulations
• Assist with strategic planning and growth of the HVAC division

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in HVAC construction, including new construction and service
• Proven leadership experience managing projects and employees
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
• Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be based in or able to work in the Tampa area
• Class A HVAC License welcome but not required
