Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Senior HVAC Technician to lead the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems.In this dynamic role, you will leverage your extensive field service experience to ensure optimal operation of HVAC equipment across diverse property types. Your expertise in HVAC design, schematics, plumbing, and appliance repair will drive efficiency and safety on every project. Duties
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration unit and other mechanical equipment.
- Interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately install or service complex systems.
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and other testing devices to identify issues quickly and precisely.
- Execute plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, ensuring proper connections and compliance with safety standards.
- Repair and maintain appliances associated with property maintenance, including refrigeration units and other mechanical devices.
- Utilize welding skills when necessary for equipment repair or system modifications.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, inspections, repairs, and parts used for each project or maintenance task.
- Operate a variety of field service equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Support property management teams by ensuring all HVAC systems operate efficiently to maximize comfort and energy savings.
- Must be able to work overtime and on-call.
Experience
- Central Plant knowledge which includes cooling towers, chillers, boilers and condensers, motors and pumps and air handlers.
- Experience with HVAC software systems.
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC systems.
- Extensive field service experience with HVAC/R equipment including use of refrigerants.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing plumbing systems, welding techniques, boiler operation, and general equipment repair.
- Familiarity with property maintenance practices across commercial or industrial settings.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical components within HVAC systems.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a private Christian College environment requiring mechanical expertise and problem-solving skills.
