Job Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks This position is responsible for maintaining the plant s refrigeration equipment. The refrigeration team member monitors the equipment during production and makes repairs and or adjustments. This position requires the team member to maintain, operate and monitor refrigeration systems working with other refrigeration personnel. Team member will also make hourly rounds of holding freezer cooler and spiral freezers, monitor and maintain oil levels in the refrigeration equipment, troubleshoot and repairs of any minor breakdowns in equipment. Continuous cleaning and painting of refrigeration room and all refrigeration equipment. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling and reaching are required. These positions work in a cold, damp to hot and humid environments and slippery surfaces.

Requirements Industrial maintenance background (minimum 1 year experience). Vocational technical training certificates preferred. Ammonia and refrigeration background or equivalent school desired. Basic electrical controls, welding, cutting and pipe fitting. Must have some knowledge of all basic hand tools, to include but not limited to, power tools, welders, saws, drills, grinders and all other tools that are specific to the nature of the equipment being utilized at this facility. Must have basic machine mechanics tool set. Basic computer skills. Position will work 10 hour shifts and overtime as required.
