Journeyman HVAC Installer — Residential Heat Pumps
Jetson | Columbia, Maryland | Full-time, in person | $32–$41 per hour
Jetson helps homeowners move from fossil-fuel heating to efficient electric heat pumps. Join our installation team to complete high-quality residential HVAC retrofits and give customers a clear, professional experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Install complete heat pump systems, including removal of existing gas furnaces and air-conditioning equipment.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging accurately and safely.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams, troubleshoot installations, and follow local building codes.
• Communicate clearly with homeowners, identify quality issues, and keep vehicles and work areas organized.
• Collaborate with installers and engineering to improve our installation process.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Active Maryland HVACR Journeyman license issued by the Maryland Board of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors (required).
• Hands-on residential HVAC installation experience, including work in attics and crawlspaces.
• EPA Section 608 certification, or actively working toward it.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, handle refrigerants correctly, and work safely under OSHA electrical and lockout/tagout standards.
• Heat pump or mini-split experience is a plus.
PAY AND BENEFITS
$32–$41 per hour. Jetson pays dental, vision, and life insurance premiums in full and 85% of employee health insurance premiums. Benefits also include education support, parental leave top-up, tools, uniforms, lunch, and a 401(k) program.
