COMMERCIAL HVAC & REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN
Dallas-Fort Worth Area (Service Territory Throughout Texas)

About This Role
We’re seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC and Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll handle service calls, troubleshooting, installations, and maintenance on a variety of commercial systems including rooftop AC units, walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in units, undercounter equipment, and ice machines. You’ll work independently in a fully equipped company van, and interact directly with restaurant managers and owners to solve their cooling and refrigeration problems quickly and professionally.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain rooftop AC units (5-ton to 15-ton systems)
- Install and service commercial refrigeration equipment (walk-in, reach-in, undercounter, and upright coolers and freezers)
- Troubleshoot and repair ice machine systems
- Handle electrical diagnostics and repairs on HVAC/R systems including compressors, condenser fans, blower motors, and evaporators
- Recharge and service refrigeration systems and manage freon responsibly
- Install, replace, and repair thermostats and control systems
- Respond to emergency service calls from restaurant clients
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding repairs, options, and costs
- Manage your service van inventory and order parts as needed using your expense account
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on field experience in HVAC and Refrigeration service and installation
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair rooftop AC units (5-ton to 10-ton minimum) (15 ton preferred)
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, and compressor operation
- Experience with condenser units, condenser fan motors, blower motors, and evaporator components
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
- Professional customer service skills and ability to communicate technical issues in layman’s terms
- Comfortable working at heights, in tight spaces, and in various weather conditions
- Willingness to respond to emergency calls as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Certification (a strong plus)
- Experience servicing Restaurant and QSR commercial HVAC and Refrigeration equipment
- Hands-on experience with Walk-in Coolers and Freezers
- Experience with commercial AC and Refrigeration maintenance

Work Schedule
- 5 working days (Monday to Sunday rotation)
- On-call emergency response availability required on rotation
- Weekend availability required on rotation (not all weekends)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working on rooftops and at heights
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and confined spaces
- Flexibility for early morning calls and emergency response
