Job Description

Job Overview
As a Energy Plant Operations/ Maintenance Technician, you will have the opportunity to monitor the continued supply of utitilty services to our terminals, and other major facilitites. You will be responsible for operating, inspecting, maintenance, and repair in the Energy plant and around the Airport to assist in the daily operation of the Air Transport World’s 2019 Airport of the Year.

What you will be doing:
•Operates the computer console and other control systems to monitor and control utilities plant systems, both at the energy plants and throughout the Airport.
•Maintains and repairs energy plant and related facilities’ mechanical and electrical equipment including pumps, valves, compressors, turbine, boilers, chillers, motors, switchgear, motor control centers, breaker panels, and other components.
•Surveys the operation of all central utilities systems throughout the Airport for defects/malfunctions; determines cause and effect of defects/malfunctions; initiates corrective action directly or through work orders; notifies E&US supervisors or employees when malfunctions or outages occurs to facilitate corrective action.
•Maintains documentation, as assigned, on adjustments, corrective action to defective and malfunctioning plant equipment; follows-up and takes corrective actions as required.
•Compiles operational data and maintains logs and computer printouts for management review and comparison with historical records. Communicates reportable events, including operating trends and limitations to oncoming shift employees.

What you need:
•Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
•Two (2) years of industrial power plant operations and/or maintenance experience involving gas turbine generators, high pressure boilers, steam turbines, electrical generators and/or distribution systems, industrial chilled water/HVAC systems, and/or chemical water treatment and purification systems.
•For internal candidates, one (1) year of industrial power plant experience in operations and/or maintenance of gas turbine generators, high pressure boilers, turbines, electrical generation and/or distribution systems, chilled water/HVAC systems, and/or chemical water treatment and purification systems; plus successful completion of the Energy Plant Operations/Maintenance Technician Training Program within Energy & Utilities Services.
•Formal training in one of the following industrial trades:
•Electrical systems
•HVAC;
•Plumbing;
•Welding, pipefitting or millwright work; and/or
•Industrial plant operations and/or maintenance
•Prior certification, or ability to satisfactorily complete, the State of Texas “Certified Wastewater Collection System Operator Class I” certification within one year.
•Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

What We Desire:
•Possession of a Class D water or wastewater works operator certification issued by TCEQ
•Knowledge of operating characteristics of high pressure boilers, chillers, pumps and industrial heating and air conditioning systems.
•Ability to work rotating shifts.
•Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.
•Ability to monitor and operate a computer console to detect and analyze malfunctions/defects in systems and equipment.
•Ability to read and use blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
•Ability to keep accurate records of maintenance performed.
•Ability to pass a medical examination
